Close by are the cities of Aalen and Ulm with further entertainment possibilities. Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts in particular have every wish fulfilled in the area surrounding Heidenheim. There is an excellent network of bike paths or great hiking routes. In winter Heidenheim can boast of several ski lifts in the surrounding areas. Whoever desires more of a challenge may drive to nearby Allgäu or to Vorarlberg, about 90 minutes away. Should you want to spend your holidays abroad, Heidenheim has excellent connections to the Stuttgart and Munich airports.
