To date 40 % of patients are not primarily treated with moist / modern wound treatment products, although almost 90 % of the physicians would use them in the first instance.  

13.12.2006: Patients with diabetes have a particularly high risk of postoperative wound infections
The risk of developing a wound infection vary as a function of the site and indication of an operation, and patients with diabetes are at increased risk, according to a study from Australia.  

13.12.2006: Nosocomial infections: systematic observation lowers infection rates.
Systematic observation and recording of nosocomial infections significantly reduce in-hospital infection rates within a few years, according to an analysis of the German Nosocomial Infection Surveillance System "Krankenhaus-Infektions-Surveillance-System"
