New absorbent wound dressing for heavily exuding wounds
Zetuvit Plus - particularly absorbent, soft and cushioning
HARTMANN has extended its range of modern wound treatment products by a new absorbent wound dressing pad. The superabsorber incorporated in the absorbent core of Zetuvit Plus provides for an extremely high absorption capacity and makes the absorbent dressing pad particularly suitable for the treatment of heavily exuding superficial wounds.
Product structure: four layers
Zetuvit Plus im Querschnitt
The outer surface of the two-layer non-woven covering is hydrophobic and thus prevents it from sticking to the wound, whereas the inner surface of the non-woven consisting of hydrophilic cellulose fibers has a high capillary activity through which exudate can pass quickly to be retained in the absorbent core.
The dressing core consists of soft cellulose fluff blended with liquid-retaining superabsorber. This blend rapidly absorbs exudate and reliably binds it. The soft consistency of the absorbent core causes the product to be pleasantly cushioning.
This absorbent core is enclosed in a thin non-woven fabric that uniformly distributes the liquid.
On the side facing away from the wound, the product features a special water-repellent yet air-permeable non-woven layer, which is colored in green to avoid application errors and to protect clothing. Green side = outside face.
Product properties: four advantages
Zetuvit Plus Produktabbildung
. Zetuvit Plus absorbs more than twice as much as conventional absorbent dressings, which makes it particularly suitable for the treatment of heavily exuding wounds. As exudate is safely retained in the absorbent core, Zetuvit Plus is also suitable for the treatment of wounds in compression therapy.
Zetuvit Plus conforms easily to body contours, is skin-friendly, air-permeable and has soft edges. This prevents irritation of the wound and the surrounding area.
Zetuvit Plus ensures atraumatic dressing changes and maximum wound rest, as the dressing does not stick to the wound. In addition, Zetuvit Plus prevents fluid accumulation and reduces the risk of maceration and infection, as exudate is passed quickly into the core. These factors contribute to undisturbed wound healing. On account of the high absorption capacity of the dressing, the frequency of dressing changes is reduced, which is another important factor that promotes the rest of the wound.
Zetuvit Plus requires fewer dressing changes, which makes it not only an optimum medical but also an economical solution to the problem of treating heavily exuding wounds.
