During the German EU Council presidency from January to June 2007, the boxes will be given as presents to government representatives of other EU member countries and selected guests attending conferences and other events.
The nostalgic boxes were issued as a special edition in mid-2005 on the occasion of a product anniversary – 125 years of HARTMANN first-aid products – and were sold through pharmacies. A part of the proceeds from the sales of the nostalgic boxes was donated to a charity, Deutsche Kinderhilfe Direkt (German Child Aid Direct), to support a preemie project. At a press conference in December 2005 the German Minister of Health, Ulla Schmidt, had personally lobbied for the campaign and has obviously remembered the good cause when choosing the gift.
From this special sales agreement, too, the charity benefits again: of each box, 50 cents go to the preemie project.
