Holiday time – time to travel. And time to check the contents of your First Aid kit.

The dressings inside the kit
are divided into 2 compart-
ments foil sealed for
immediate use.
Apart from taking a First Aid Refresher course, which are held at numerous organisations. You should also check your car first aid kit in preparation for the summer holidays, some of the items are indispensable but they may now be out of date.

This means that the packs containing first aid dressings, wound or burn dressings only have a limited shelf life and are therefore marked with an expiry date. After this period of time sterility is no longer guaranteed. And the dressing should not be used.

Sterile dressings usually last 5 years, sterile products are those products that come directly in contact with a wound e.g. adhesive plasters or gauze dressing. After 5 years  they should be thrown away. HARTMANN offers refill sets complying with the Germand Standard DIN 13164 to replace all the old out of date products.

HARTMANN offers a First Aid Kit specifically designed for cars, it has rounded edges and can withstand extreme temperatures from -25 to +90 and can withstand a high level of impact. It will fit easily into all cars e.g boot, glove compartment and is easy to open. The dressings inside the kit are divided into 2 compartments foil sealed for immediate use.

One part contains the sterile products and the other one the remaining content items specified in the German DIN standard. These include dressing retention material such as adhesive tapes or conforming bandages and other non-sterile specification items like an emergency blanket, a pair of scissors and disposable gloves. Both parts are securely fixed onto the inside lid and inside bottom to prevent the contents from falling out upon opening. The HARTMANN First Aid Kit for cars have been designed to make them user friendly.

A list of contents enclosed in first aid kits gives a full overview.
