Anti-aging: Protect your skin against these "irritants"!
Nicotine can cause skin aging.
Dermatologists warn against these five "skin irritants".
Too much sun: UV rays attack nuclei and connective tissue. The results are wrinkles and pigmented moles. Therefore take a sunbath only with sufficient sun protection and not too often.
Nicotine: Studies of the University of Utah showed that the skin of women smokers tends to wrinkle five times more frequently than the skin of women non-smokers. Nicotine inhibits the build-up of collagen which is necessary for firm tissue.
In addition nicotine promotes the development of free radicals.
Coffee: Coffee contains caffeine. Too much of it dilates the blood vessels. This can cause little red veins on the cheeks and cellulite. It is better to drink tea, green tea for example contains just as much caffeine as coffee.
Ozone: The ozone content of air has doubled over the past few years. Therefore individuals who stay outdoors a lot are increasingly exposed to free radicals. Creams with free radical scavengers such as vitamin E, C and Q 10 can prevent skin aging.
Lack of sleep: 70 percent of the hormones required for skin regeneration and the human body are produced between 11 and 4 o’clock at night. Therefore enough sleep, if possible from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., is important.
