Signs of fractures:

- Pain
- Excessive mobility

Fractures may be open, i.e. there may be a wound in the fractured area, or closed.

First aid measures:
- Support position to alleviate pain.
- Avoid moving the body part affected.
- Eventually loosen clothing, but do not remove shoes.
- Never try to straighten broken bones yourself!
- In the case of open fractures, there is a risk of infection. Therefore cover wounds with germ-free material.
- Call the ambulance service.
- Look after the person affected until the physician arrives.
