Since July 1, 2004, Dr. Rinaldo Riguzzi (60) has been the CEO of PAUL HARTMANN AG as well as CEO of the multinational HARTMANN GROUP. Riguzzi, who has a PhD in Business Administration, knows the Group like the back of his hand: as Regional Director for West Europe, he was previously a Group executive officer, and since 1987 he has headed up IVF HARTMANN GROUP in Neuhausen (Switzerland), one of the major foreign subsidiaries of the Heidenheim-based supplier of medical and patient care products.

Born on September 28, 1946, in Ermatingen (Thurgau canton), Riguzzi studied at the University of Economics and Social Sciences in St. Gallen, graduating with a degree in Economics (majoring in foreign trade policy). In 1976 he was awarded a PhD in Business Administration. Right from the start, his career was linked with healthcare: first as the CFO of the Swiss subsidiary of B. Braun Melsungen AG, then as a member of the management board of Galenica Holding AG, a pharmaceuticals wholesaler based in Berne.

In 1987, Riguzzi became the delegate of the administrative board (CEO) of Internationale Verbandstoff Fabrik (IVF) in Neuhausen. As IVF HARTMANN GROUP, this company had been part of the German HARTMANN GROUP since 1993. Since April 2006, he has held the position of president of the administrative board and has simultaneously been executive member of the administrative board of the IVF HARTMANN GROUP. He soon took on a wide range of responsibilities at the parent company: in 1994 he became managing director of PAUL HARTMANN Finance B.V. in the Netherlands; in 1995 he was elected to a seat on the board of directors of the newly founded subsidiary company in Hong Kong. In 2002 Riguzzi was promoted to become a member of the Central European Board, on 01.01.2002 he was appointed Regional Director for West Europe and made a Group executive officer.

Riguzzi, who has Swiss and Italian nationality, has contributed his experience in various management functions of regional business. For example, he is president of Schaffhausen’s cantonal bank. Other offices he has held in the past include, among others, the position of president of the administrative board of Spital Thurgau AG and president of the Schaffhausen employers' association IVS (Industrie-Vereinigung Schaffhausen) as well as membership on the administrative board of the Swiss Bank Association.
